Many of us tend to ignore our “gut feelings” or intuition, simply because it wasn’t a logical thought. We’re taught from an early age that logical thinking is the only way of thinking that really matters. The only way of thinking that gives us the concrete results we look for. An intuitive hunch often gives us the answers we were looking for that logic missed, and parents often refer to “mother’s instinct” being more useful than rational thinking alone… so why don’t we trust it more in all aspects of our lives?

When we listen to and trust our “gut feelings”, we know with absolute confidence if the advice or information we are receiving is accurate and in agreement with our highest wellbeing. We are able to simplify our lives because we are better able to prioritise, organise, and declutter all that typically fills and overwhelms our minds.

“Trust instinct to the end, even though you can give no reason” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
